Job description

Main responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical design in marine electrification projects
  • Coordinate the tasks within the mechanical engineering team
  • Ensure seamless integration of external systems into our solutions
  • Identify and implement standard components and products in designs
  • Oversee detailed mechanical design development and project-specific equipment
  • Conduct calculations to verify designs
  • Develop conceptual designs, layouts, and production drawings in AutoDesk Inventor
  • Update drawings to "As-Built" documentation based on feedback
  • Plan and manage tasks, deadlines, and progress reporting to stakeholders

Supporting Responsibilities

  • Experience with AWS: SQS, SNS, Lambda, ECS, IaC, CodeBuild, CodePipeline
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines is a plus
  • Experience with GitHub workflows and actions
  • Familiarity with the maritime industry and regulation
  • Familiarity with the maritime industry and regulations

Background and skills

  • Strong mechanical design expertise, particularly in maritime environments
  • Understanding of shipbuilding concepts and industry standards
  • Experience designing to ship classification rules, Eurocode, and international standards
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD 2D/3D, Vault, and Plant 3D
  • Meritorious with knowledge of marine systems such as fire detection, firefighting, HVAC, CCTV, and shell doors
